❗Call out❗(March 24)🐬

We were called out at 11.27 this morning to reports of a deceased porpoise on St Anne’s beach.

If you find a Porpoise/Dolphin on the beach please call HM Coastguard at Holyhead on 01407 762051 and they will task a local team to attend to take measurements, photographs etc which are then sent to the Natural History Museum in London. If the carcass is in reasonable condition it may be sent for autopsy. If not, the Coastguard officers will arrange disposal via the local council.
The purpose of the measurements is to evaluate the population dynamics and possible/actual cause of death.
