Man detained for allegedly carrying a knife this afternoon.

Good evening folks,

Earlier this afternoon (Wednesday, February 23) we received several reports regarding a man threatening people in North Shore, Blackpool.

It was reported a man carrying a knife had demanded money from a number of people in the Knowle Avenue area, close to Warbeck Drive, around 4.45pm.

Officers attended the scene and following a search of the area a man was detained and arrested.

Thankfully no one was injured during the incident.

Sgt Andy Hill, of Blackpool Police, said: “We realise this was a very concerning incident and will have worried many people in the area.

“We can confirm a man has been arrested and is in custody.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and are not looking for anyone else at this time.

A 20-year-old man from Blackpool has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is in custody.
