Over 91% Of Over 65s in Lytham St. Anne’s Have Received First Dose Of Covid-19 Vaccine

NHS statistics show that the great majority of residents in Lytham St. Anne’s aged over 65 have had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. In Lytham 93% of the 2,746 over 65 residents have had their first dose of the inoculation. In St. Anne’s the data shows that 91.8% of the 3,124 over 65 residents had has their first jab.

The areas with the lowest take up in this over-65 age group are mainly centred across cities, particularly in south London.  Badly performing areas include Moss Side West in Manchester (55.5 per cent), Brixton North in London (56.1 per cent) and Sparkbrook South in Birmingham (57.3 per cent).  (These statistics are taken from NHS data up to 28th February, 2021).

England’s vaccine roll-out was officially widened to over-60s this week, and GPs and vaccination centres have been told to prepare to receive twice as many doses in March. Local vaccination teams have also been told to stamp down on ineligible people being invited for variants, after reports of healthy adults in their twenties and thirties being called up for their jabs and people skipping queues by claiming to be carers.
