Was it an earthquake?
According to the British Geological Society, no it wasn’t.
It was more likely to have been a ‘sonic boom’, as the RAF jet plane was flying overhead at the time.
“British Aerospace confirmed they did have aircraft airborne at the time and two RAF aircraft but cannot confirm at this time if any had gone supersonic.” (metro)
It rattled a lot of people anyway. Some locals thought it was thunder, or ‘fracking’ had caused an aftershock. Some locals have commented that it’s possible fighter jets are getting ready for a potential invasion from Russia, into the Ukraine.
