Sir Keir Starmer Soaks Up The Sun On A Three Day Visit To The Fylde Coast

Sir Keir Starmer soaked up the sun today in Blackpool as he enjoyed the fine Summer weather during a three day visit to the Fylde Coast.

As well as meeting up and chatting with people on the Promenade, Piers and Bars today, he took time to visit St. Mary’s Academy in Blackpool (pictured below). The Labour leader later tweeted that it was ‘Brilliant to meet young people at St Mary’s Academy in Blackpool. They’re motivated, talented and ambitious. We must harness that and protect their futures. Labour’s Jobs Promise will offer out of work young people a quality education, training or employment opportunities.’  Sir Keir also took the opportunity to enjoy the Comedy Carpet and fish and chips courtesy of Harry Ramsdens.

Speaking before his visit to the Fylde Coast, the Labour Leader said, ‘For too long, politics has felt too remote from ordinary people’s lives and opinions. That’s why I’ve committed to spending a lot more time outside Westminster this summer, taking Labour’s offer on the road and direct to voters.

He continued, ‘In Blackpool I’ll be putting forward Labour’s proposals to create real opportunities across Britain – opportunities that everyone deserves and that help our country thrive. Whoever you are and wherever you live, you deserve every chance to get on in life.”

Labour said that across the next two days on the Fylde Coast, Sir Keir will have conversations with sixth-form students, apprentices, hospitality workers and young people from local community groups.
