BLACKPOOL POLICE TACKLE KNIFE CRIME

The “arch” yielded some interesting finds.

As part of #OpSceptre – our week of intense action against knife crime – we have been out with our knife arch the past two evenings on Lytham Road 🔪 .

A total of 104 people passed through the knife arch and we also searched 12 people. One person was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs and we seized 20 wraps of crack cocaine and £300 in cash.

We also made some arrests on adjacent streets – one on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug and one on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply a class A drug. 21 wraps of crack cocaine, three wraps of heroin and a flick knife were seized.

We are committed to keeping our communities safe and tackling violent crime is a priority for us. We’ll continue to work throughout the year, using all powers at our disposal in areas where we identify there is an issue.
