Celebrations Of Success At ‘Lytham In Bloom’ Awards Evening

The Clifton Arms Hotel was the venue for the 2021 Lytham in Bloom Presentation Evening. The winners of the Community Gardens competition for Lytham were awarded with either a well-deserved Silver, Silver Gilt or Gold award certificate, with the relevant category winner also receiving a trophy. After a year out, due to the Covid Pandemic, this was a very special evening with over 120 attending, including Lytham In Bloom committee members and volunteers. Mrs Yvonne Ball graciously accepted an invitation to present the awards.

A spokesperson for Lytham In Bloom said: ‘It was an honour to have Mrs Ball present the prizes.  All those present embraced the event with enthusiasm and the evening was a thoroughly heart-warming occasion. We’re grateful to the management of the Clifton Arms Hotel in providing a sumptuous and welcoming environment, and Lytham In Bloom’s view was that all recipients of awards were winners.

The standard of floral displays this year was impressive and the efforts made to improve the Lytham environment was greater than ever. In the two years of the pandemic, 2020 and 2021, the people of Lytham, residents, visitors and businesses, have appreciated and undoubtedly benefited from the natural beauty which has surrounded them in our town.’

A total of 62 awards in 19 categories were presented, with the owners and operators of businesses, pubs, restaurants, cafes and non-commercial properties all getting involved to ensure Lytham consistently looks its very best. Awards were given for notable features in line with the Royal Horticultural Society system of judging.

The Chairman’s Award (pictured below) was proudly accepted by Lytham Hall.  A spokesperson said, ‘It is wonderful news to receive this award. Many thanks to our team of dedicated volunteers who make things like this possible.’
