Charlotte Dawson Takes To The Stage As Wicked Stepmother In Pleasure Beach’s Cinderella

Charlotte Dawson, daughter of the legendary comedian Les Dawson, has proudly announced her long-awaited return to the stage. In the run-up to Christmas 2022 she will be facing the Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Globe Theatre spotlight as she transforms herself into the role of Cinderella’s sinister, sneering stepmother. The festive  show runs from November 26 until December 24.

Charlotte, 29, is no stranger to pantomime. She made her pantomime debut 11 years ago when she performed in one of her late dad’s dresses in Aladdin at the Empire Theatre in Consett.

In the new Blackpool show, Cinderella lives a life of drudgery, bullied by her horrible Ugly Sisters. Her muddled and confused father, Baron Hardup is powerless to intervene (he’s more scared of them than she is!) and her only comfort is her pal Buttons! Prince Charming is holding a ball to meet his bride to be. Can this be the chance that Cinders has been waiting for? Despite the best efforts of her two malicious Ugly Sisters. Cinderella shall go to the ball with the help of her magical Fairy Godmother!

The show also stars ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson as the Fairy Godmother and from Wet Wet Wet, Kevin Simm, as Prince Charming.

Amanda Thompson OBE, executive producer of Cinderella, said: ‘We are delighted to bring audiences the magic of live entertainment this festive season at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Charlotte joins our truly talented cast of actors, singers and dancers who will bring Cinderella, one of the most popular pantomimes ever, to life on the stage. I can’t wait to open the doors of the Globe Theatre and share this fantastic production with everyone.’

Tickets to Cinderella start at £14, with tables available for groups of between two and five people. Book a seat online, or call 0871 222 8787.
