Well done to the Lytham HM Coastguard volunteers who were called out at 3.54 p.m. this afternoon (Thursday 8th July) to reports of a missing child, last seen by the water’s edge, on St Anne’s Beach. On arriving at the scene and they liaised with the child’s mother, and commenced a search of the tide line from St Anne’s Pier heading towards Lytham. Fortunately, very soon after they started their search, the Coastguard volunteers located the missing child safe and well. They then reunited the child with the family and returned to station.

And last night (Wednesday 7th July), after the football, the volunteers were called out at 11.26 p.m. to reports of a person in the water around the North Pier/Festival House area. A search of the area was carried out by HM Coastguard Lytham and RNLI Blackpool.  D class lifeboats were launched & started to search between North & Central Pier. Fortunately the casualty was located inland by Blackpool Police a short time later so all units were stood down.
