Great Programme Of Live Entertainment Comes To St.Anne’s Square Every Tuesday Afternoon

Passers-by and visitors will be entertained in St.Anne’s each Tuesday thanks to a 22 week-long programme of musical entertainment, Sounds In The Square, which commences next Tuesday 3rd May 2022.

The weekly events will be hosted in the Amphitheatre, situated just outside ‘No Filter’ Cafe in At. Anne’s from noon to 2pm from Tuesday 3rd May to Tuesday 27th September inclusive and will feature a variety of performers, offering a wide range of musical genres including classical, soul and favourites from the 1960s to 1980s .

First up on 3rd May is female vocalist Emma-Louise Jackson. Emma-Louise is not only well known for her lively performances, as seen on The Voice, but also as an integral part of her community. Al fresco performances are nothing new to Emma-Louise. During the first Lockdown she took her talent to the street in an effort to bring a little happiness to those around her, she also made activity bags for local children and enabled the community choir to keep singing with online choir sessions. She has been awarded the British Empire Award to honour her tireless efforts to bring joy to those in need during the pandemic.  Emma Louise will also close the 22 week season on Tuesday 27th September.

Performers taking to the Amphitheatre stage over the following weeks include classical crossover artist Stephen Maycock and singers Jodie Hamblett and Lee Lambert, crooner Steve Kay and variety performer Carl De Rome. The full programme is depicted below.

Meanwhile, the St Anne’s Town Council is also promoting the return of monthly brass band concerts in Ashton Gardens on Sunday afternoon, starting this weekend. The free event is called Brass In The Grass and  features Blackpool Brass. Concerts will also be held on June 19, July 3, August 7 and September 4.
