Meet Arti and Nigel 😍

Who are these gorgeous little chaps?

From the Lancashire Police’s Dog Unit – Meet Arti and Nigel! 🐶 🐶

These two gorgeous pups are our newest recruits, having joined us a fortnight ago thanks to the generosity of two members of the public ❤️

Arti has been funded by Skelmersdale teenager, Logan Murray, who decided he wanted to do something for the Dog Unit after seeing how hard police pups were working at football matches.

Throughout December 2020 Logan, aged 15, made and sold Christmas Eve treat boxes for dogs, selling around 140 to friends, family and via Facebook. He raised just under £1,300 and the money was donated to the Dog Unit and has been used to fund Arti.

Arti is named after Artemis, who was the Greek goddess of the hunt.

Nigel was donated – and named after – Nigel Greenhalgh, aged 75 and from Accrington.

Nigel (the human!) is a retired Lancashire Police officer and has family who breed dogs, so when a litter of 11 pups came along earlier this year he knew he wanted at least one to be donated to the force.

Arti and Nigel come from the same litter and have settled in well together. Nigel is wearing a blue collar on the pictures. On the third picture he is being held by his human namesake while Logan is holding Arti.

Thankyou so much Logan and Nigel – we really appreciate your generosity 👏

Our wonderful new furry colleagues are set to start their training soon and will hopefully be operational within the next few months, so watch this space..! 👀
