Sandgrounder Radio has become one of the radio stations to join the new DAB Digital Radio Multiplex which launched last week from the top of Blackpool Tower.

Having launched six years ago on DAB Digital Radio across the southern half of the North West Coast, covering The Liverpool City Region, two years ago the independently owned commercial station had ‘The Fylde Coast’ area written into its licence service description with Ofcom

Now listeners across the Fylde Coast can listen to Sandgrounder on crystal clear DAB Digital Radio

Sandgrounder Radio’s Content Director, Andy Hilbert said: “The launch of the new DAB Digital Radio Multiplex at the top of Blackpool Tower is the final piece of the jigsaw which now allows us to cover the whole of the North West Coast area on DAB Digital Radio”.

Sandgrounder Radio have already this week broadcast LIVE from St Annes Beach for the kite Festival as well as from the Terrace Bar’ at Blackpool Central Pier for the illuminations switch on.
