UPDATE REGARDING STABBING IN BLACKPOOL ON MONDAY

Arrests have been made.

From Blackpool Police –

Hi folks

We posted an appeal yesterday asking for a witness to come forward following a stabbing in Blackpool and we just wanted to let you know that two people have now been charged in connection with the incident.

Police were called by the ambulance service at about 2.30pm on Monday to a report that a man in his 30s had suffered stab wounds.

The incident happened near to the Premier Store on Park Road/Westmoreland Avenue.

The victim continues to recover from his injuries.

Two people have now been charged. They are Nicholas Walsh, 31, of Mayfair Avenue, Manchester and Reece Barker, 30, of Edward Street, Oldham.
They are both accused of robbery and Section 18 wounding. Barker is also accused of driving offences. They are due to appear before magistrates in Blackpool tomorrow (Thursday, July 15th)

Detectives are still keen to trace a man they believe could be a key witness. He is thought to have been walking his medium/large light-coloured dog past a blue Punto on Westmoreland Avenue between 2.05pm and 2.15pm when a disturbance occurred.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 1057 of Monday, July 12th.

Alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Thank you in advance for your shares and information that gets forwarded.
