Could your favourite local shop be crowned the best in Fylde?

Residents across Lytham St Anne’s and the wider Fylde area are being invited to get behind the businesses they love as Fylde MP Andrew Snowden launches a search to find the constituency’s top shop.

Following the popularity of last year’s “Fylde Pub of the Year” competition, which attracted thousands of votes, the spotlight is now turning to the independent retailers, family-run businesses, cafés and high street favourites that help keep local communities thriving.

Businesses from Lytham, St Anne’s, Poulton, Kirkham and villages across Fylde have already been nominated by local people, and voting is now officially open.

The winning business will be crowned Fylde’s Best Shop, receive publicity and local media coverage, and be presented with a bottle of House of Commons Whisky. Area winners will also be recognised.

Andrew Snowden MP said local shops remain the heart of towns and villages, providing jobs, character and the personal service that makes local high streets unique.

He added that many independent businesses continue to face challenges from rising costs, increased bills and online competition, making community support more important than ever.

“Whether it’s your local butcher, baker, florist, café, hairdresser, gift shop or family-run retailer, I want people to get behind the businesses they value most and help us find Fylde’s Best Shop,” he said.

Voting remains open until 31 August 2026.
