The local group ‘Lytham Mummies’, a facebook page for locals which was created 3 years ago and has continued to grow and become popular between residents of Lytham St Annes. Each year, Beverley Nickson, who runs the group, sets up an auction to raise money for a particular charity. Beverley then reaches out to the 2000 mum members to vote on which charity they would prefer the money to go to.
Out of the top 3 voted charities, Brian House Children’s Hospice won the poll this year which ran for a week on the group.
Beverley wrote in to tell us, “The response we have had on the Lytham Mummies Facebook and Instagram page has been overwhelming. I have been inundated with auction prizes from local businesses and we have more offers of prizes coming in as I speak.”
She continued, “Our Lytham Mummies Facebook group has over 2,000 local mum members and we have over 96% engagement every month on our page. This page is non judgemental, supportive and friendly page for mums to ask for advice and share their concerns, recommendations and promote their businesses.
“This year as its been such a challenging year for local businesses due to covid19 this was a way of raising the awareness of these businesses with our members and also to do something wonderful for a local charity as it approaches Christmas.”
