Lowther Pavilion Hits New Box Office Highs This Christmas

The Lowther Pavilion Theatre in Lytham, who have been at the heart of entertainment on the Fylde Coast since 1921, has announced that this year’s festive spectacular, Cinderella, has beaten all previous booking figures by being 30% above pre-pandemic levels.

Lowther Pavilion’s Artistic Director Tim Lince is jumping for joy at the strength of community support for this Paul Holman Associates Production which, by the time of opening on Monday 5 December, was already showing increased box office figures and audience attendance. This is in stark contrast to the recent study from GoDaddy and the Society of Independent Theatres which highlighted that of 80% of small theatre, many are concerned about dwindling audiences as the cost-of-living crisis intensifies.

Tim Lince, said: ‘It is a mark of the tremendous work done by staff at the theatre to re-engage with the community through our education work and the fantastic programme of shows that are now playing at the Lytham venue. We have had sell out after sell out during the Autumn and through making the venue more visitor friendly we have developed the audience seeing them return time and time again.  Although Lowther is at the heart of the community on Fylde it is also attracting audiences from much further afield with 67% of our current audience being visitors from out of the area helping boost the tourism spend in the town.

Tickets are still selling fast so I recommend that anyone wanting to see a traditional family pantomime with all the bells and whistles make a beeline for Lowther this Christmas.’

Cinderella runs at the Lowther Pavilion until Friday 30th  December 2022 – oh yes it is!
