There are plans to switch the Blackpool illuminations back ON, possibly next Wednesday, as lockdown ends and shops and most businesses can reopen.

It’s thought that this will bring much needed cheer to the town, after they were turned off on November 4th in conjunction with the 2nd national lockdown, avd people were encouraged to stay at home.

There’s also going to be 40 foot Christmas tree installed in the town centre, and festive lighting.

We just hope that today’s announcement puts all the Fylde coast and Blackpool in tier 2 or below, so that local traders might just recoup a little towards commercial losses this year.
