Charles Alexander Short Stay is a family run business situated in Lytham St Annes. The company founders Joanne and Lee Kirton, have two young sons whose middle names are Charles and Alexander, holding the namesake of the company, and declared the ‘little helpers’ and entertainers: their inspiration for establishing the company.

The company provide short stay accommodation suitable for business and leisure travellers, with tasteful, modern decorations for the most comfortable night’s sleep.

During the Coronavirus pandemic however, the little family have opened their business to frontline NHS workers. Working directly with the NHS and the government booking partner during the pandemic, playing a vital role in helping the workers who risk their lives daily.

In order to keep NHS workers, who are exposed daily to the virus, in isolation from their families, Charles Alexander have provided 15 apartment units to NHS workers, at a special cost agreed with the NHS bosses.

In addition to helping isolate NHS key workers, the company have also let out “isolation pods” to locals who have travelled oversees, in order to allow them to isolate for 2 weeks before returning home and risking infection.

One of the company founders, Joanne has stated: “The NHS have been the absolute bedrock of keeping this virus under control and caring for those who need it the most.

“Some staff lived with at risk adults and we wanted to help them by providing accommodation where they can rest after their shifts”

“We worked with the NHS and their official accommodation booking partner to make sure the accommodation was up to standard and could be used for isolation.”
