Fly tipping on the Fylde footpath ☹️

Ruthless riddance of refuse has blighted the beautiful scenic seafront walk at Church Scar.

A local has photographed the dumped mound, and shared his disgust on a local Facebook group.

Fly tipping is a huge environmental problem, especially so close to our seafront.

It’s a criminal offence to fly tip, and if the perpetrator is caught, they can be slapped with a hefty fine.

Fly tipping– definition :
Fly tipping is the ‘illegal deposit of any waste on to land that has no license to accept waste’

There are ample facilities available for the removal of waste and unwanted goods. Including the option to take the items to the Household Waste Recycling Centre (Tip) Lytham or the bulky waste collection service, where items are collected from a household.

It is an offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to fly tip any material. Conviction could lead to a heavy fine of up to £50,000.

Lytham tip is currently still open, so there’s no excuse to take rubbish there, as it’s likely this was dumped from a vehicle.

If you recognise this rubbish, and have paid someone to remove it, please report them to Crimestoppers.
