Good luck Myles!!

Local lad Myles Pearson says a heartfelt thanks to the local businesses who are supporting his participation representing GB in the upcoming World Games!!

From Myles –

Hello there, it’s me again!

Before I head to The World Games representing GB, I just wanted to say a thank you to the local companies that have supported me recently.

Firstly, to Andrew and Rachael Langley with Kevin Ward at YourGym. The support and professional expertise the team has provided has put me in the best shape I’ve been in for a while. It’s hugely appreciated.

Secondly, to J Wareing and Son who’ve kept my rugby chair match ready. From welding cracks in my pick bar (the big cage on the front of my chair) to heat treating the metal, the team has ensured I’m able to keep on pushing with a professional and reliable service.

Thirdly, Glasdon who’ve very kindly given me a donation towards my equipment. Keeping equipment stocked up is hugely important in wheelchair rugby but it’s not cheap. For example inner tubes are £2 (the cheapest bit of equipment) each and considering I could go through 10-15 in two days, you can see how easily the costs can add up. So a massive thank you that team.

Finally, thank you to everyone who’s stopped and said good luck or sent messages of support. Hopefully I’ll see some of you in Marvin’s for a cheeky jäeger to celebrate, hopefully a gold, when I get back!

If you or anyone you know would like to give wheelchair rugby a go then did you know that Fylde have a club? The team, which I’m helping to form, is gradually growing but we’re always looking for new members. The sport is great fun and fast whilst the team are really friendly. For more information, please follow Fylde Rugby Community Foundation – Wheelchair Rugby.

P.s Sorry for the essay!

Very best of luck from the Lytham St.Annes News team!!
