Prolific jewellery burglar from St Anne’s is jailed

From Fylde Police –

A burglar who targeted homes across Lytham St Annes, stealing thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, has been jailed.

On 26th May, following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, 47 year old David Tierney, of All Saints Road in St Annes, was charged with 4 counts of burglary and possession of Class A drugs.

As a result of the work done by officers from Blackpool’s Targeted Crime Team, jewellery with a value of around £23,000 was recovered and returned to its owners. Some of the items recovered held significant sentimental value to the victims.

DS Stuart Reid said: ‘This type of offending leaves victims feeling anxious and no longer safe in their own homes. I am pleased that Tierney has been given a custodial sentence and this demonstrates the commitment that we have to bring offenders to justice for burglary.’

Tierney pleaded guilty to the offences and was sentenced to 4 years in jail.
