The Queen and Prince Philip married at 11.30am, Thursday 20th November 1947, 73 years ago to this day. The wedding took place at Westminster Abbey in London.
The couple, whose great grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have celebrated the wedding anniversary with them by sending them a celebratory hand-made card. The Queen and Prince Philip have been photographed smiling joyfully at their gift from the young princes and princess.
The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have been spending the second lockdown together at Windsor Castle.
Royal sources said the couple were “delighted to be able to spend the time together” at the Berkshire residence, dubbed ‘HMS Bubble’ after 22 staff quarantined with the royals during the first coronavirus outbreak.
