SAVAGE ATTACK CAUSES MAN TO LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS

Blackpool Police appeal for witnesses.

We are appealing for witnesses after a man was subjected to a homophobic attack while walking home from a night out in Blackpool.
The attack took place between 2am and 2.30am on December 9 when the victim was returning home from the Flying Handbag on Queen Street.
While walking along Palatine Road in the direction of Central Drive, two men approached the victim, asked if he had attended the Flying Handbag and if he was gay. The victim, aged in his 40s, was then hit to the side of the head causing him to lose consciousness.
The offenders are described as white, aged between 20 to 40-years-old and between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins tall.
Det Con Paul Edmondson, of Blackpool CID, said: “This is a serious attack that caused the victim to lose consciousness.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident, or who may have CCTV in the nearby area”
