Update about Stabbing in Preston last Saturday

Preston Police have issued the following statement 👇👇

An arrest has been made as part of our investigation into a stabbing in Preston city centre on Saturday (June 5th).

The incident occurred at around 3.30pm when a man in his 20s was assaulted by several other males on Grafton Street, close to Fishergate Hill. During the attack he was stabbed to his lower back.

He was taken to hospital by air ambulance. Thankfully he is now making a good recovery.

We believe the incident was a targeted attack and the parties involved were all known to each other.

We have since arrested a 22-year-old man from Preston on suspicion of assault – GBH. He remains in custody.

DI George Binns, of Preston Police, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are very much ongoing and today we have made an arrest.

“We are continuing to appeal for information and would ask anybody who saw the incident, or captured any part of it on mobile phone footage, to get in touch with us straight away.”
