Valentine’s Day Farmers market moved from Dalmeny Hotel after local objections.

It caused a storm on Facebook.

Although farmers markets are permitted, despite being in lockdown, the proposed plans to host it at the Dalmeny Hotel on St Anne’s promenade have been cancelled, and the event has relocated to the Plough at Freckleton.

It is widely speculated that this is due to the volume of locals objecting to the event being hosted during a pandemic. The event is outdoors, and it is understood that covid secure measures are in place, and that it is vital to the survival of local farmers and food producers.
