Following the article posted on Lytham St. Anne’s News yesterday evening (11th September), ‘Fears of Cypress Point, Lytham gang culture escalating out of control as a leaked social media picture shows a 16 year old male holding what looks like a gun’, Fylde Police have today issued this statement, ‘We are aware of an image on social media reportedly showing a teenage boy holding a suspected firearm. Following enquiries, we have today (Monday, September 12) arrested a 15-year-old boy from St Annes on suspicion of possession of firearms offences. He is currently in custody.’

Chief Superintendent  Karen Edwards, of Lancashire Police, said: ‘We understand there may be some concern around this image and officers have made an arrest as part of our enquiries We are at the early stages of our investigation and are we are working to establish the exact circumstances around the picture. We will update you in due course.’
