Brenda Blackshaw Shares A Heartfelt Message Following The Results Of Yesterday’s Local Election

Former Councillor Brenda Blackshaw has shared a message of thanks to all who supported her in her role as a Councillor and has thanked everyone who voted for her in the local elections.

Brenda says, ‘Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my role as a councillor and to every single person who has ever voted for me.

I cannot pretend not to be disappointed by the result of the election but I accept it is a democratic process and I wish my successors well.

To the people of Lytham West I am sorry I will no longer be fighting your corner in an official capacity. I became a councillor because I care about the community we live in and have tried my utmost to do my very best for every single one of you, every single day.

Being a councillor has been an honour and I am very proud of what I have achieved during this time.

As many of you know I am an active member of the Lytham community and I look forward to continuing to passionately support the many organisations I work with across the borough.

However, “Elvis has not left the building.”

Lytham St Anne’s News joins with her many well-wishers and would like to sincerely thank Brenda for her years of dedicated service to our community.
