A quick guide to what’s “still open and running as usual” in Lytham St.Annes.
We are very fortunate to live on the Lytham St.Annes coastline, and it’s important to keep positive, and enjoy some of our stunning local areas, especially during the next 4 weeks. All of the council run playgrounds will not be closed during Lockdown 2.0, meaning you can continue to enjoy outdoor gren spaces with your household and ‘bubble’. Fresh air and exercise is especially important in order to maintain a healthy mind and body, appreciation of nature is a great way to combat stress and anxiety, all year round. It’s easy to maintain social distancing measures, and this time of year is especially colourful as the trees shed their autumn leaves. 😊
ParkView 4U is also open for you to enjoy, but please be aware there are no toilets open on this site. The cafe is unfortunately closed under current restrictions.
All council run public toilets WILL remain open, but you will need 20p to “spend a penny!”
Lytham Tip will operate as normal, observing its winter hours. You don’t need to book an appointment, but asked only to visit if it’s ‘essential’. You may need to obtain a vehicle permit if you intend to use a trailer, or deposit more than 1 type of waste. Inert waste however, is still not permitted. Details regarding the permit can be found on Fylde Council website.
All scheduled domestic refuse collections will also continue as scheduled, with any change to Christmas and New Year yet to be announced.
The beach, sand dunes and coastal walks are unaffected, however Gyms, soft play, swimming pools are closed, and visitor attractions such as the Blackpool Zoo, the Pleasure Beach are now closed until further notice. Lytham Hall is also sadly closed during Lockdown 2.0.
If you operate a covid secure outdoor activity, and would like to be added to the article, please send us a message so we can update our followers.
