Lytham St. Anne’s RNLI have appreciatively announced that they have been left a most generous donation of £64,000 from Pauline Howarth.  Pauline lived on the Fylde Coast all her life.  In her younger years she was an ice skater in the internationally acclaimed Blackpool Ice Show.  Pauline was described by friends as a glamorous and kind lady. Her favourite pastime was walking along St Anne’s Promenade where she loved to meet her friends for a stroll and coffee as often as she could….weather dependent.

In the photograph you can see Pauline’s friend’s daughter, Mandy Hibbert, handing over the most generous  cheque for £64,000 to Coxswain Tom Stuart, watched by Martin Jaggs. Sharing this news, Lytham St. Anne’s RNLI say they are truly grateful to Pauline and Mandy for this most generous donation.

Although families and communities are still struggling through the pandemic, there’s promise of a better Spring and Summer. The sky is a little lighter, the grass a little greener. With longer days on the way, more people will be drawn to the water. Hope of rescue is what they will need should find themselves in trouble. The RNLI is purely funded by the donations of kind people like Pauline. Thank you, Pauline.
