Councillors Launch New Facebook Platform – People Before Politics

Councillors Mark Bamforth and Kelly Farrington have moved quickly to make themselves accessible to residents in their Lytham East Ward.  They have launched a new Facebook Page called Mark Bamforth and Kelly Farrington Lytham East Ward, which can be linked to at: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090904181075

It may not be the most concise, or marketing friendly title for a Facebook page, but Mark Bamforth says, ‘Kelly and I intend to be the “A-Team” for sorting out issues in the area. To help us do this, we wanted our own space on social media where residents can see the list of work we are involved in, comment on our posts, and also DM us about any concerns or issues they may have.’

The Facebook page is not the only route to contact Mark and Kelly. The council has posted both their details along with those of all elected councillors on the Fylde Council website.

Mark and Kelly have requested residents ‘Like’ their page so that the page becomes more visible within the community. Both Mark and Kelly want the whole council process to become more transparent.

Kelly Farrington says, ‘I am looking forward to helping Mark and learning from him. It is handy that we live down the same road as each other so I can keep nipping in for chats. I think that proximity and the fact we get on so well will help residents – we can tag team on issues to get things sorted effectively.’

The initiative reflects Mark and Kelly’s campaign slogan, “People before Politics”, a message that captured the imagination of local residents in their successful East Lytham campaign.
