Blackpool Celebrates The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee With These Great Events

There’s a royal mix of dedicated celebrations taking place in Blackpool over the Jubilee holiday weekend: The regal line up includes these great events:

2nd June: Heritage Tram Parade
At 2.30pm, around a dozen much-loved trams from the heritage fleet will travel in convoy from the Pleasure Beach to Little Bispham, creating one of the largest tram parades the town has seen! Capture the moment as they pause at the Tower Festival Headland for a unique photo opportunity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2nd June: Giant Outdoor Picnic & Comedy Carpet Entertainment
Between 3pm – 7pm, relax at The Big Comedy Picnic and al fresco eating out area opposite The Blackpool Tower, with free live entertainment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2nd June: Light & Laser Show PLUS Dazzling Fireworks Display
From 9pm – 9.45pm, there will be further entertainment before the town joins the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons, followed by a light show and a burst of fireworks from the top of The Blackpool Tower.

Jubilee-themed events and live entertainment at Blackpool Pleasure Beach throughout the four-day holiday weekend including late night riding, fireworks and a Jubilee Concert on Saturday 4th June.

Blackpool will also be taking part in the Community Beacons where thousands of beacons will be lit by communities, charities and different landmarks throughout the regions of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, coming together to celebrate this magnificent milestone. Beacon lighting has long been associated with celebrating major milestones, including Royal Jubilees, weddings and coronations. Dating all the way back to 1897, beacons were lit to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Most recently, beacons have been used to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day and Her Majesty’s 90th birthday in 2016. More information about this will be posted later.
