A Blackpool family were ‘lost for words’ when their McDelivery arrived and their son Riley opened his burger box.  He was left ‘crying’ when he saw that it contained just a slice of cheese and dollop of ketchup.

Lauren Yarwood and her partner Dave had ordered a takeaway from Lytham House but their menu failed to tempt her vegetarian son Riley. He opted for a McDonald’s veggie burger with extra cheese and ketchup.

‘I honestly have no words,’ distressed mum Lauren Yarwood said.

‘Dave and I got a Lytham House takeaway and my veggie son wanted a McDonald’s. Dave ordered him a veggie burger with extra cheese and ketchup and this is what they sent.’

The distressed Mum continued, ‘When we rang to complain they said ‘you ordered a veggie burger without the veggie burger with extra cheese and ketchup. And they actually just sent the cheese and ketchup! Riley’s crying, Dave’s stressed out… McDonald’s have ruined our night.’

Miss Yarwood, who initially suspected her son was winding her up, posted pictures of the delivered burger on Facebook. Although Miss Yarwood admitted she had made a mistake when placing the order she questioned why McDonald’s staff would not query it. ‘You’d think they’d ring to check and not speak to you like an idiot when you ring to discuss the cheese slice and ketchup in a box that’s just been delivered for £7!’
