Blackpool Tower was lit up in Union colours last night (Friday 9th September) in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II , the UK’s longest reigning monarch, who died on Thursday. The iconic landmark shone brightly in red, white and blue over the local landscape as the Illuminations were left unlit for two nights (Thursday and Friday).
However, VisitBlackpool has said the full illuminations display will resume tonight (Saturday 10th September), but added that on the night of the Queen’s funeral the Illuminations will once again remain unlit. The display will then resume in full the following day.
