Local residents who have been waiting to visit Blackpool Zoo from next Monday, June 15th have been disappointed to learn today that they will not be able to go to the Zoo yet. This is particularly disappointing for the many loyal supportive members of the Zoo. The Zoo has three different levels of membership available, the Bronze membership is only valid for entry on Sundays, whilst Silver and Gold Memberships include unlimited admission to the zoo and other discounts, including free car parking for top tier members.
The Zoo says staff are still working hard to put a wide range of measures in place to protect both workers and guests.
Blackpool Zoo have said: ‘Following the news that zoos can reopen from Monday, we are doubling our efforts to open as soon as we can. We’d been working towards opening in early July, but now hope we can open earlier.’
The Zoo has said that when it does reopen visitor numbers will be limited each day and everyone, including members, must book online to guarantee entry. All indoor animal houses will be closed and short podcasts will replace the suspended daily talks, feeds and displays. There will be enhanced and increased cleaning and disinfecting of all areas and toilets will be open and manned by attendants to manage numbers within the facilities.
