Police believe the body of man, discovered by a member of the public, is that of missing Blackpool man, David Watkinson.
Only yesterday we shared a police appeal for David, 56, of Blackpool as he had been missing for 2 weeks. The body was found at Mariners Way, on Preston Docks.
Whilst the police state the body “has yet to be formally identified”, they have informed his family that they believe it’s David.
The file will be duly passed on to HM Coroner, however the death is not currently being treated as suspicious.
Our thoughts are with the family at this very sad time.
