Brand New Beach Front Cafe Enjoys A Wonderful Opening Weekend

The Beachcomber Café, which has opened just off Clifton Drive North with parking at North Beach Car Park, has enjoyed a most successful initial weekend. Under the watchful eye of Linda Bloor, a very familiar face at The Pavilion in Ashton Gardens, the new café has elicited these most complimentary comments from two customers who appreciated the venue’s warm hospitality this weekend..

Kim Allen wrote this excellent review which provides full details of the new St. Anne’s beach café:

’ I was one of the first customers yesterday at the soft opening of the new “Beachcomber” cafe next to, and supporting, the St Anne’s Kitesurfing Club / Wind Sports Centre. It is a wonderful venue situated on the expansive beach of St. Anne’s-on-the-Sea. I had Eggs Benedict and it was perfect, the best I’ve had, pure breakfast heaven!

The cafe opens daily from 9am. Breakfast is served until 11:30am. Closing times will differ according to the season and the weather, especially in the winter months. There’s parking next door at North Beach Car Park, the entrance to which is on Clifton Drive North, just after Norwood Road; the entrance by Highbury Road is closed.

The food is all locally sourced and freshly cooked with seasonal daily specials and there are vegetarian options. In the future there are plans for pop up nights, for instance a Paella night and on Sundays “Roasts on the Coast” are coming in the next fortnight.

The cafe has bifold windows opening out onto an outside deck, a dog friendly area where there’s water provided for thirsty dogs. Dogs are also welcome inside, if kept on the floor. Access is via a ramp for wheelchairs and those with limited mobility. There’s also an outside takeaway hatch for ice creams, coffees and chips on the beach, ideal for those sand-yachting and kitesurfing. ‘

Jane Shipley agreed sharing this:

‘What a lovely experience we had at beachcomber cafe after walking out dogs on the beach it was lovely to have hot chocolate and cake as a treat and bring the dogs inside the cafe. We are going back for the fish n chips that looked gorgeous on another table!!

The cafe is licensed until 9pm and stocks Sea Change Wine, a range of award winning environmentally conscious wines that help to protect the oceans. If you’d like to book the Beachcomber for a private function an extension time of 11pm can be applied for.

The proprietor Linda is working closely with wild life groups and is passionate about protecting the sand dune environment. All the take away products are biodegradable and single use plastics are avoided at all costs.

A new venture, Linda and her team ask for customers to be patient whilst they iron out any teething problems. It became so busy yesterday, even without much advertising, that the Beachcomber promises to be a favourite for locals and visitors alike. A long overdue beach front café, I wish them every success!’

  1. The proprietor needs to learn some manners. We went for lunch today and we were spoken too abruptly. Short of outside tables and chairs on this very sunny day. Brilliant location halfway between Squires Gate and St Annes pier. Good luck, we may try another visit when they get organised.

  2. A fabulous addition to North beach. As a local resident we have been eagerly waiting for this cafe to open.
We visited this morning after a long walk on the beach with 2 dogs and we were all made to feel very welcome .
The interior is bright and cheerful and there is a beautiful decked area outside.
We had a fantastic freshly cooked breakfast and all the staff were lovely.
    Highly recommended

  3. Went to try this new place on Wednesday. Wasn’t too sure about the location but eventually pulled into the north car park . There was no signage, it was pouring rain so wasn’t going to search for it. Left the car park and went elsewhere, hope try again if we know where to find it in inclement weather

  4. Ive Been 3 times this week, staff very friendly & accomodating. Couldn’t do enough for us…Grandchildren loved it & the grandpup was happy too.
They have been 1st to admit they have had some teething problems which they are ironing out..
but they have been overwhelmed by the support & have been very busy…
Food is delicious & homemade cakes to die for….not good for the waistband but too good to resist..
Fabulous location, straight onto the beach & dog friendly..
