Buckingham Palace has announced Her Majesty The Queen has died. In statement issued today (8th September, 2022) , the Palace said: ‘The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.’
The announcement comes after Buckingham Palace issued a statement earlier on Thursday that the Queen was under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became concerned for her health.
All four of her children, Prince Charles, Prince Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, travelled to Balmoral to be with the Queen, along with her grandsons Prince William and Prince Harry.
Prince Charles is now King Charles III.
