Cannabis Candies Confiscated at Post Office, Police Warn Locals to Stay Vigilant

Lancashire Police are urging Lytham St Annes residents to be vigilant after a pack of sweets laced with THC, the principal component of cannabis, were discovered in a Blackburn post office.

The sweets were heavily laced with THC, enough to be up to “50 times stronger than a joint.”

The mysterious package which has been confiscated and currently investigated by the police, was discovered in a Blackburn post office to be shipped to Cumbria. The items were disguised as regular sweets under the ‘Nerds’ brand packaging.

As you can see the packaging is different to regular Nerds Rope sweets, with the word “Medicated” over the logo

A Lancashire police statement read:

“We are urging people to be vigilant after a batch of sweets, containing THC, a cannabinoid found in cannabis, were recently intercepted by officers in Blackburn as well as Cumbria.

“The confectionary items, disguised in ‘Nerds Rope’ packaging, contain the cannabis oil which could be 50 times stronger than a joint.

“Lancashire Police officers recently intercepted the items at a post office in Blackburn, with officers in Cumbria finding a package due to be delivered in Windermere.”
