Fylde Police issue good advice to secure your van 👇

“The theft of Ford vans has once again increased in the local area and we are asking you take action to prevent this. Generally the year of thefts are between 2013 to 2016 and the vans are stolen without keys.

The vans are stolen literally within a couple of minutes and they aren’t smashing the glass making lots of noise so no one is noticing the crimes in progress.

If you own one of these vans please consider extra security measures such as a steering lock or alarm etc. We appreciate there is an initial cost outlay however considering the damage a stolen van containing tools can do a business its definitely something worth investing in.

Yesterday we recovered this stolen van which was stolen overnight in Lytham. The van belonged to Lancashire Tree Services and the owner was mega chuffed to get his van back. Luckily a dog walker had seen a Facebook post about the van being stolen and contacted the owner.

Patrols are being stepped up, both overt and covert, so please don’t be offended if you are stopped by the police. We want to catch these people.”
