It’s an eventful week on the roads around our town this coming week, with three major routes being subject to major works. Machinery will move in on Monday to sites on St Annes Road East (B5433) and Clifton Drive North (A584) whilst from Wednesday journeys along East Beach will be impacted.
Diversions will be in place next week on St Annes Road East (B5433) when this busy highway near Heyhouses School is resurfaced. Work, to be carried out by Lancashire County Council starts on Monday 20th January and is planned to conclude by Friday 24th January. The section closed will be from the junctions with Church Road to Carlton Road.
Additionally, traffic travelling along Clifton Drive North (A584) will be delayed by temporary traffic lights as United Utilities likewise start work on Monday carrying out CCTV work and the jetting of drains. Throughout the next two weeks this will impact upon journeys along this busy road from junctions with New Road to Kilgrimol Gardens.
And the necessary disruption will continue as Cadent Gas have announced they are going to place two way signals near St John the Divine’ Church (opposite to the Windmill) as they carry out essential maintenance on Gas services located below the East Beach carriageway. This work begins on Wednesday 22nd January, and has a planned end date of Tuesday 28th January.
With these three major road works happening in our area next week, it is sensible to allow more time for your journeys.
