Fylde Council today have issued a warning on their twitter page to local people who are considering using companies to remove rubbish from their homes , they said “If you’re having items removed from your home, it’s down to you to check the company you use is legal. If the waste is dumped illegally it could be traced back to you, and you would be held responsible. Ask to see a waste carrier’s licence, or check online 👉 https://crowd.in/P6uzzR ”
However, Howard from Cecil Street Lytham told Lytham St Annes News the following “I am fed up with my rubbish piling up, I have four children off from school and the volume of rubbish is a lot more, I just cannot cope with it as I cannot visit the recycling centre as it’s closed. My black bins are overflowing, and I have had to resort to putting black bin bags into the brown bin for now. I was given a leaflet last week from two scruffy men in a pick-up truck offering rubbish removal with a mobile number on it. I am not sure of their legitimacy as I haven’t seen them before and they had Liverpool accents, but with Lancashire County Council closing the tip I might have no choice but to use this company”.
