A temporary airspace restriction is in place as thousands of golf fans travel to Lytham for the 50th AIG Women’s Open, hosted at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. No unmanned aircraft, without prior authorisation from Lancashire Police, is to fly below 1100 FT Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL) within the area highlighted on the map. .

This restriction is in place for the duration of the event. The times are between:

  • 8am and 4pm on 29th July
  • 6am and 6pm on the 30th July, 31st July and 1st August
  • 6am and 8pm on the 2nd August.

Fylde Police say they will be monitoring the airspace around the restricted area, with officers both in the air and on the ground. Drone pilots who don’t follow the rules risk prosecution and having their equipment seized.
