Lytham St. Anne’s residents, especially the elderly who may not be receiving face-to-face support and advice, are warned not to fall victim to a current wave of on-line scams. One such unsolicited email message promising financial help courtesy of the UK Government is being sent to many unsuspecting residents. Whilst seemingly authentic, a simple error in the spelling of relief is a tell-tale sign. However, there are others circulating with authentic formatting which ask for bank details, PINs etc so that money may be paid into accounts. Beware – and reiterate warnings to already worried older folk.
