The Blackpool Night Run, which sees thousands of runners enjoying a traffic-free 7.5 km route and experiencing a sneak preview of the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations, is back on the 31 August, 2022. Participants start their run in front of Blackpool Tower and head north towards Bispham & Red Bank Road, before turning round and heading back to the finish line at the Tower.
By entering, raising sponsorship or making a donation, runners will be helping support Brian House, the only children’s hospice on the Fylde coast.
Whilst the Night Run is free to take part in, each runner is kindly asked to raise a minimum of £30 in sponsorship or donate at least £30 to Brian House Children’s Hospice. Brian House provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people in Blackpool and on the Fylde coast who have a life-limiting conditions. Every single penny raised in sponsorship or donated by those taking part goes straight to the amazing children’s hospice, and so helps provide vital care and support to so many families.
Places for this event are limited, and runners have to register to secure entry. A link for this is provided below.
The Night Run is fully-marshalled and traffic-free. The route is also flat, making it ideal for all abilities aged 8+. Once registered, runners get:
- A Blackpool Night Run T-Shirt
- A Bespoke Finishers Medal
- A Sponsorship Form
- Regular email updates helping you with fundraising and training
The care provided by Brian House is completely free of charge to those who need it. However, it costs over £1.3 million a year to keep the doors of the Hospice open, with only a fraction of this cost being covered by Government funding. As a result, Brian House relies heavily on kind donations and sponsorship from supporters. By taking part in Blackpool Night Run, raising sponsorship and by wearing the Brian House colours, participants will be helping raise awareness and vital funds that will allow Brian House Children’s Hospice to be there for even more families.
