Ex-King Edward VII student and supporter of Boris Johnson, 50-year-old MP Steve Barclay, was tonight (5th July) appointed the new Health Secretary following the shock resignation of Sajid Javid. (King Edward VII School merged with Arnold School in 2012 to form AKS Lytham).
Mr Barclay was previously the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Chief of Staff for Downing Street.
In another part of the forced reshuffle, Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi has been appointed Boris Johnson’s new Chancellor after Rishi Sunak dramatically quit the role earlier in the day.
