In the early hours of this morning the fire and rescue service were called to the building adjacent to The Monterey Beach Hotel, Promenade St Annes due to a fire during the evening/early hours. The fire crews attended and all tenants in the domestic building evacuated; additionally, guests in the hotel next door were evacuated safely as a precaution.

The teams of fire fighters who attended are still on the scene having fought to get the fire under control and preventing the fire spreading to the neighbouring hotel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chris at The Dalmeny Resort Hotel offered his immediate assistance and gave the hotel guests a safe haven and a bed for the night.  Also, other neighbours offered guests a place to stay for the night truly showing the St Annes community spirit.

As of 8am this morning the fire has meant part of Clifton Drive North is closed with traffic diversions in place.
