Following Recent Fylde Flooding, MP Menzies Says ‘We Need To Get This Fixed Once And For All.’

Fylde MP Mark Menzies says that he has been speaking to residents across Fylde who have been affected by the flooding last week, and is now calling for a multi-agency meeting.

Menzies adds that he is deeply concerned by these flooding issues. Commiserating with residents he sympathises, ‘I can only imagine your frustration over this happening again and that’s why I want to get this put right.’

MP Menzies has put forward his next step to sort the long standing problem that impacts so many Fylde properties, roads, and farmland, ‘I’m continuing to call for a multi-agency meeting with Lancashire County Council as the lead flood authority alongside the Environment Agency, United Utilities and Fylde Council.’

In a message to residents, he adds, ‘But I need your help to show Lancashire County Council the areas that urgently need prioritising. Please share your experiences with me in my local flooding survey in the link below: https://www.markmenzies.org.uk/campaigns/flash-flooding-fylde .’

This is certainly not a recent issue. Back in October 2021 MP Menzies said, ‘The flooding Minister Rebecca Pow recently visited the constituency (see photograph below) and made clear the Government’s commitment to support communities and help relieve flooding. I shared with her the experiences of local people and gave those on the front line of tackling flooding in Fylde the chance to share their views. I will be sharing with her the findings of Fylde Council’s flooding taskforce and making the case for action based on their recommendations.’

Certainly, after the recent floods many residents will say that the time for action is NOW.
