Whilst the disappearance of Nicola Bulley continues to hit the headlines – friends of 28 year old Dan Hives from Preston  are asking for similar efforts to find their mate who has been missing for over two months. Dan is described as 6ft tall, of slim build, with short brown hair. When he was last seen, at around 9.30 p.m. on the evening of Saturday 10th December 10, Dan was wearing a blue Hugo Boss tracksuit and black trainers. This was in City View, Sidings Close, in Lancaster. At the time, because of the proximity to the River Lune, underwater search teams were tasked with scouring the surrounding area for Dan. Additionally, Lancashire Police Dogs Unit and the Lancashire Police Drone Team were supported by Lancaster Area Search and Rescue, the National Police Air Service and dogs from Lancashire Fire and Rescue, in the search to find Daniel. The investigation has so far turned up few leads.

Lancashire Constabulary has confirmed the investigation into Daniel’s disappearance is ongoing. Chief Inspector Chris Barton, of Lancashire Police, said: ‘Despite a significant investigation and search, we have as yet received no further information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel. I am aware and understand a number of people are quite rightly concerned about Daniel’s wellbeing. I want to reassure those people we are doing everything in our power to find him. We would encourage anyone with information about his disappearance to come forward. We would also ask anyone driving in the area of Sidings Close, around 9.30 p.m. on December 10, who may have seen Daniel, to get in touch if you can help us.’
