Fylde Council have today (Thursday 24th September) said that the Orchard Road project and improvements are progressing well.
The Spokesperson said, “All 4 tree pits are now installed, with specialist underground root protection, nutrient-rich soil, watering and aeration systems ready for the trees to be planted this winter.
“Work on the 6 planters is also progressing well, with kerbs, foundations, lighting infrastructure and drainage membranes complete. The York stone footway has been reinstated, and George Cox are relaying the sunken block paving.
“Bespoke lighting bollards and planting will follow in due course.”
When the plan was announced over two years ago the Council said that the Orchard Road project would retain its distinctive character by reusing existing materials where possible, alongside upgrades such as new planted areas, tree replacements, and illuminated bollards.
