Fylde Police Respond To Large Gathering & Anti-Social Behaviour On The Green Last Night

Last night (Tuesday 30th March) Fylde Neighbourhood Policing Team (NHP) received reports not only of large gatherings but also anti-social behaviour on The Green at Lytham. The Police are consequently ‘encouraging’ parents to educate their children regarding current Covid-19 legislation and say they will increase their presence in the area. They say they will use their powers if required.

The police have said, ‘We understand that it has been a difficult time for everyone recently, but the coronavirus regulations are still in place and they are there to protect people and save lives.

As a community which has worked together to prevent the virus we would encourage parents to continue to support the police in educating their children regarding Covid legislation, especially given the efforts that the vast majority of people are making to get us back to normal as quickly as possible.

Following these incidents, we will have an increased police presence in the area. We will not hesitate to use powers available to us if required.’
